Kel's Piano recital!

So Mikelle had a piano recital this past Saturday! She played two numbers and did so well! At the end of the program, her teacher Suzie got up and introduced a "special guest"! It was JON SCHMIDT!!!! Holy cow! I saw him in the back and could have sworn that's who it was -- We LOVE his music -- but I wasn't positive! Well, it WAS! He came and spoke to the kids and played quite a few numbers! Then Suzie's sister who is a professional photographer, snapped these of the kids! They are treasures! And he signed them!

All her students!

Mikelle's solo piece!

And a duet with Dad!

She is a NUT!

Preschool Graduation!

Carter had hi preschool graduation tonight! :)

They hold it in the evening at an outdoor amplitheatre and it is so much fun! They sing all their songs from the year and get their diplomas!

Gracie and Grandma Rosie wave to Carter!

Carter and the Youngs! We LOVE them! They have taught all of our children and I think we'll still make the drive when Gracie gets to the preschool point!

Speaking of grace-- She LOVED the puddles from all the rain!

Aub's Second grade program

It was Aubrey's Second Grade Program today and she did so well! It was an AMERCIA theme! She was quite the poser in the morning! Cute and ready to go!

Mikelle's field trip!

I love going on Fieldtrips with my kiddos and am so grateful to have Grandmas here to watch the kids! We got to go to This is the Place Heritage Park with the 4th grade

It had been raining for days and finally stopped enough for the fieldtrip!

The McFriends- Mikelle and McKenzie!

Aubrey, Kel, and Jordyn!

They learned how to do a pioneer dance -- Look at her face-Can't you just see how enthusiastic she is to dance with a boy! :)

But she got into it and had fun!

A real Mountain man!

And the kids even got to pull handcarts!

At the old school house they learned to Deseret Alphabet (made by Brigham Young) and poor Mrs. Carlson got to see how they punished kids back in the day!

OUCH!

A great Saturday!

Saturday was one of the greatest days!!! First off, it was FINALLY beautiful, perfect weather! We went to Carter's belt promotion and he earned his purple belt! He has seriously made so much progress! He LOVES it so much and it has been something that is really sticking with him! (more pics of his ceremony in the next post)

We came home and changed into our grubbies and went out to work in the yard! The kids actually really got into it and we had fun as a family getting our garden ready for planting! Even Gracie grabbed and shovel and dug around! :) Nothing makes me happier than working as a family!

Then Ry took Carter around the block a few times --He is wanting so much to ride his bike without training wheels. Ry was trying to get him to balance but had nothing to hold onto-- He got a backpack for him to put on and it seemed to help-- A few more lessons and we'll be getting closer little buddy! He's such a little sport!

Then the highlight was Sat. night! Back when Ry and his buddies won "Farmington's Got Talent" part of winning 1st place was the opportunity to perform as entertainment in the Miss Farmington pageant and also at Farmington Festival Days (in July). Sat night was the pageant and they did so well! This time Clark played 2nd gutiar and Ry composed some piano arrangements to go with and the three sang and did SO WELL!!!! Polly and I fell in love with our hubbies all over again! :0

What a great looking band!

And my favorite part! He melts me with his voice! Watch out Scotty McCreery! This bass voice has gotcha beat!

Purple Belt promotion

Another belt promotion for Carter -- First thing we start to FOCUS! Eye focus!

Good moves!

So Strong!

Reach kick!

Carter took his board to Dad to talk about a goal he wants to do better at-- Picking up his toys!

Then he BROKE the board with his fist!

The many faces of KARATE!

Preschool pics!

I did Preschool pictures for all of the classes at Carter's school again this year! Five classes full of cute kiddos! I started taking pics for them way back when Mikelle went to them! Time flies!!!! The weather last week was heaven and prefect for us to get some cute pictures! He is so excited for kindergarten in the Fall but has LOVED preschool and is going to miss the Youngs so much!

In love with that cute face!

A little lunch!

My friends Trish and Rach came over today and we had lunch! It was so much fun! When we lived in Kaysville we would get together like this almost monthly -- It's always so much fun to just get together and eat yummy food, let the kids play, and enjoy chatting with adults! :) Trish made her famous Gazpacho and Mint julip, I made spinach artichoke dip, and Rach brought Rummy cupcakes! It was a treat and great to be together!

Some Freezer meal info~!

I've had a lot of people ask me for a few recipes and some info on how to do these freezer meals-- So here it is! These are the two books that I use to make the meals and ALL are wonderful! I would HIGHLY recommend buying one or both! They are at any book store and I've also seen them at Costco! My great friend Misti back in Flagstaff is the one that got me into this and we would cook together like this every few months. All the meals are quite easy and made for happy kids and hubbies! Before the second book came out, Misti searched on the internet and made her own book out of some she found and they are now among my FAVS! Here are a couple--

(one correction-- it says chicken in the recipe --it's actually ground turkey)

This is the turkey, artichoke stuffed pasta! YUMMY! And I almost didn't use the fresh basil it called for but my friend brought me some and it truly is what MADE this dish! It really is delish!
